Introducing Aqua Therapy:

    Aqua Therapy

First I would like to introduce myself - my name is R.J. Guildenstern. I will be taking over for J.R. Rosencrans while he does an internship with a national fishing magazine. J.R.’s articles have been a part of the White River Watchers’ newsletter for the last ten years. My attempt will be to continue in the same direction and writing about the love of the aqua world that J.R. enjoyed so much. Thus the name will change from Grins and Giggles to Aqua Therapy.    Aqua Therapy will be my (R.J.’s) masthead for the newsletter.

Alliance to Provide Rain Garden Assistance

Are you looking for a way to help protect our water? Then join the White River Alliance for a FREE workshop that will provide homeowners with everything you need to learn about rain gardens. Rain gardens are special plantings that look a lot like a typical flowerbed but are strategically located to capture storm water runoff and filter out pollutants.

In coordination with area cities and towns, the Alliance is also providing FREE on-site technical assistance to help you evaluate your property, arrange for equipment, and place a plant order at reduced cost.

If you care about water quality, healthy reservoirs and streams, and wildlife habitat, then this is a fantastic opportunity to hit the ground running this spring with a unique project that will have a great impact. See the attached flyer, and contact Scott Minor at the White River Alliance for more information:scott@thewhiteriveralliance.org. You can also check out our calendar athttp://thewhiteriveralliance.org/events/.

Eco-Adventure Traveler to Speak

Join us Sunday, March 6 as the White River Alliance and Earth Charter Indiana welcome home Bryan Brown!  Bryan is an eco-adventure traveler and will relive his remarkable story about successfully completing the first-ever solo, unsupported descent of the entire 2,400-mile Colorado River Watershed as well as the first solo source-to-mouth kayak descent of the Yukon River and the longest self-supported descent of Canada's MacKenzie River Watershed in history. Don’t miss his tales of extreme weather, extreme paddling challenges, and weeks alone crossing extensive tracts of true wilderness!
