MINUTES
July
21, 2008
Minutes: The minutes for the meeting of
June 16, 2008 were approved as corrected. Jim Rich was changed to
Brad Childs.
Treasurer’s Report: Kim passed out a
copy of transactions to date. Our running balance was $16,956.22 in
the checking account.
News Letter: Kim would like to have all
submissions by the week of August 4th.
Celebration:
Sheryl suggested renting a 20 x 40 tent along
with tables and chairs. The tables would be $6/ day and the chairs
$0.90/ per day. The parks department would not be able to provide
the tables and chairs. A discussion followed. Judy made a
motion to rent a tent, tables and chairs, Kevin seconded, and the
motion carried.
Sheryl will stay at River Bend waiting on canoes as
they return.
Jud and Bill will bring wheel barrels.
Kim will handle the registration and signing of
waivers.
The Parks Department trailer will be there
There will port-o-lets at both ends
Tokens will be handed out for t-shirts
There will be prizes for the most tires, most
hysterical find and the most historical find.
Judy made a motion to purchase three gift certificates
from Robbie for a canoe or kayak rental, John seconded. The motion
carried.
We will charge $10/canoe and $5/kayak.
September 13th Clean-up:
The clean-up will be from Mounds to Edgewater.
Volunteers will meet at Edgewater and be bussed to
Mounds.
Layne Cameron reported having been awarded two grants
totaling $9500 for their clean-up in Muncie.
It was suggested that we revisit the recycling of
debris collected since there is a new refuse carrier.
Kim will get the dumpsters, handle the sign-in and
wavier signatures.
We have enough T-shirts. If more are needed we can
get them.
A motion was made, seconded and passed to
adjourn.
