River Celebration:
We dispensed with the normal order of business to
allow Robbie from Canoe Country to speak before he had to leave to
go to another meeting. He approved of the idea of having an annual
River Fest and agreed to assist us by providing canoes and kayaks.
Sheryl Myers submitted the paperwork. The WRW is
signed up for our celebration.
We will launch from Edgewater Park and float to River
Bend.
We will not need electricity this year.
We requested more kayaks from Robbie.
We also discussed the June and Sept. cleanups while
Robbie was present.
It was suggested that the WRW help pay for the cost of
canoes for other organizations such as Scout Troupes, youth groups
or athletic clubs, that want to have their own clean-up(s) but
cannot afford the cost of the canoes.
The City of Anderson should be contacted to see if
they would like to set up a display.
The Celebration will be held on the 26th of
July.*
We need to make a list of people to contact.*

Treasurer’s Report: Kim handed out the
monthly financial report. The treasurer’s report was approved.
Good News: A new state legislative act
passed by both the House and the Senate will require Mallard Lake to
go before the board of zoning and adhere to 2008 regulatory

Ball State Students Report:
The team is working to finish the situational analysis
The team suggested target groups include current
volunteers, the 25 – 35 year old age group since this group may be
more permanent residents of the county.
The team would like to survey the group for
information on how well the WRW and its activities are known.
Sheryl made a motion to offset the cost of postage for
the team up to $1000.
It was agreed we need a quick turn-a-round for the
surveys.
Information on mailing lists can be retrieved from
USdata.com(org?) . The lists may need to be purchased.
Newsletter: Kim is working on the next
newsletter. Sheryl will write about the upcoming Earth Day
Activities.
A motion was made, seconded and passed to
adjourn.
