MINUTES

May 19, 2008

Minutes:  The minutes for the meeting of April 21, 2008 were approved.

Treasurer’s Report:  Kim reported she had filed the 990EZ form with the IRS.  She provided a copy of the bank statement.  There was no activity in May.  There was a financial review meeting.  All is well.  The interest from the CD with First Merchants has not been deposited yet.  The CD is worth $34,374.11.  There is $17,913.49 in the checking account. 

Old Business:

*      Sheryl reported there were 18 volunteers present to clean up Shadyside Park at the City of Anderson Arbor Day celebration.

*      Kevin received the report from the Ball State Students.  They made some recommendations.  The report was passed around for all to see.  They also had the results of the survey.

*      Our next clean-up is scheduled for June 14, 2008.  This is the last meeting before the clean-up.  Details were discussed and finalized.

*      Sheryl made a motion to reimburse Alan and Sue Kilburn for lost equipment.  This will be done without a receipt.

*      We discussed the need for shovels, pry bars and possibly a knife.  We will get the equipment for future clean-ups.

*      We discussed a few details for the September 13, 2008 clean-up.

*      Kevin reported there was progress in Delaware County towards a clean-up effort of their won. 

*      A date for a sub-committee meeting for the river celebration. It was decided to keep the celebration simple.  There was discussion about getting a radio sponsor or DJ, perhaps Buddy Patterson.  A price was discussed.

*      There are reports that the West Trail system has been put on a total hold ad is in a mess.  The new administration needs to put the trail system on the front burner especially with Anderson becoming a destination place with the casino. 

We did not discuss any new business.  A motion was made, seconded and passed to adjourn.
